About The Club

The Running Back Club was founded by Coach Tarence S. Williams, who is a former All-ACC Running Back at Wake Forest University (1999-2002). Coach Tarence was a candidate for the Doak Walker Award, which is the most prestigious award presented to a collegiate Running Back. In 1999 He arrived at Wake Forest & played under Coach Jim Caldwell & Staff. The seventeen year old had impressed the coaches to the point that He was promoted to play as a True Freshman, which was rare during that era.

Coach Tarence started the next year as a True Sophomore. He also started at the Running Back position the next two seasons for the Demon Deacons. He averaged 4.5 yards per carry & ended his career with nearly 2600 rushing yards & 22 touchdowns, placing him fourth on the All Time Rushing List to date. In 2017 He was inducted into the E.A. Laney High School Athletic Hall of Fame ( along with the G.O.A.T. Michael Jordan who also attended E.A. Laney High School ).

After a career ending injury ( in a bowl game ) during his senior season, He graduated then returned to his hometown - Wilmington, North Carolina ( where The Running Back Club was established ). When his NFL dreams fell short, He discovered a way to still live out his passion for football ( and his role as a Running Back ). Inspired by the Running Back position, Coach Tarence created a Club solely focused on representing all Running Backs of the past, present and future ( through not only strategic Running Back training but a brand with exclusive merch that is worn by people across the world.

His unique approach to training Running Backs & other athletes has earned the attention of many NFL, collegiate & high school athletes.

Coach Tarence’s philosophy is “We train the basics really well... which ultimately translates to the game.”
